Rumors of remakes and reboots are all over the place right now, but this one has to be the most min-blowing/exciting that’s surfaced maybe ever.
/Film is reporting that Danish film director Lars von Trier is teaming up with Martin Scorsese to remake the new-holloywood classic Taxi Driver. If that’s not enough, Robert de Niro will again star.
Brendon Connelly writes:
“The von Trier project would be likely to go in a completely different direction, however, and play more like a deconstruction of Scorsese’s original than a new drama we could expect to reveal itself fully without reference to the original.”
The only way to top this is, of course, would be to release it 3D.

Thoughts? Scorsese and Taxi Driver spells all kinds of awesome…
but I think this being released in 3D would kill everything else… it could look like a theme park ride or something. But then again, it could still end up awesome.

btw… I just don’t know if Robert de Niro could still do it?
